Calvin Caron is a Bassist and Composer working out of the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Calvin has performed as a sideman with a variety of musicians who are staples of the Twin Cities jazz scene. Calvin has a respect for the tradition of jazz while simultaneously looking forward musically, he has a voice in composition where he attempts to keep the music honest. 

Calvin has performed as a bandleader and sideman at many different venues around Minnesota such as: MN Orchestra Hall, Bayfront Festival Park (Duluth), Phipps Center (Hudson), Jazz Central Studios(MPLS), Volstead’s Emporium (MPLS),  Green Room (MPLS), Sacred Heart Music Center (Duluth) and more.

Calvin Spent the formative years of his musical life in Duluth, MN while he studied at the University of Minnesota under Ryan Frane. He spent the post-pandemic years of 2020-2024 working in the Duluth music scene. In the spring of 2024 he moved to the Twin Cities. In the Twin Cities, Calvin has had the opportunity to play with and study with many of the area’s great musicians while working on new music inspired by his different surroundings.
